For the Fans

While anime on television has always been a mainstay in Philippine culture for several years, what makes today different is the appearance of events that has incited fan participation. For one thing, we've already had five anime conventions in the span of three years. While this number isn't big compared to the standards of other countries, it's still something to begin with.
With more events looming on the horizon, we thought it's time to make a fanzine that caters to the fans. After all, if it's just coverage of the latest shows or manga titles, there are other resources people can turn to such as magazines or the Internet. What we need is something different, something unique. Some of us have heard reports about the fan culture abroad. How about one for our very own country?
Fanime will try to do just that. We're not promising anything spectacular. After all, we're far from professionals. However, we'll do our best to deliver what we can, especially the fact we have lots of resources to draw upon. The country's fan culture is actually quite active from events like conventions, film showings, eyeballs, and even proms.
Since we're fans, we'll try to deliver it with as much ease as possible. Every anime fan has a budget. We understand that and that's why Fanime is free. However, being free has its own price that's why its distribution is left to the Internet where publication costs are greatly reduced. And isn't accessing a fanzine through the Internet quite easy?
